“Great food is like great sex. The more you have, the more you want” – Gael Greene

file_000-20As a passionate foodie and recently-turned fitness fanatic, I believe that it is entirely possible to enjoy really good food whilst living a very healthy, happy lifestyle.  And that is why I’m here: to demonstrate that even the smallest changes can make a big difference and that food can be good for you and taste amazing too.

In my day-to-day job I don’t have much opportunity to write, so rather than lose something that’s served me so well over the years I decided to start a blog to document my food experiences, share a few recipes, and maybe write the odd fitness feature or share a few health hacks along the way.

Food has always been pretty much life; coming from a Maltese family on one side and a very traditional English on the other, cooking and eating have always been at the core of our family get-togethers and one of the focal points of my upbringing.  On the flip side, fitness has only become a massive part of my life over the last year or so; be it working out in the gym, Stand-Up Paddleboarding, Pilates or anything else you can convince me to get involved in (I even did Tough Mudder Half this year… Mad, I know) – but I’ve grown to absolutely love it.  I never used to care much about what I ate or when, yet the more I read-up and put into practice the more I learn and grow as a person, giving me the confidence to change in a way I never thought I would.  Something I hope to share with you.

And now for something completely different…

  1. I’m one of the biggest geography geeks you’ll probably ever meet, so I love to travel around and adore pretty much everything about the environment;
  2. My entire family is very musical so you’re kind of an outcast if you aren’t… (don’t worry, I am);
  3. I have, in my opinion, one of the roundest faces ever, it’s very off-putting;
  4. I put myself out on a limb far too much for other people – but I like to think there are worse character flaws in life

So there you have it, a little bit about me and what inspired me to start this blog.  Now, let’s see how she flies.

Cheers all, hope you enjoy!
